PrestaShop Stats module: why your stats are empty, and how to read them
You open the Stats tab in PrestaShop and the charts are flat, visits are at zero, or revenue does not match your orders? Most of the time it is a setting. Here is the checklist to get your stats back on track, then the reports to read first.
In PrestaShop, statistics are not a single block: each report is a separate module, and they all depend on a data collection module that records visits and page views. When one link is missing, reports show up… empty. Here are the checks to run, in order.
Why your PrestaShop statistics are empty
1. The data collection module is disabled
The technical module statsdata collects the data used by the statistics. If it is uninstalled or disabled, visit reports stay at zero. In Modules › Module Manager, search for “statsdata” and check that it is installed and enabled.
2. Page view recording is turned off
In that same module’s configuration, options control page view recording, globally and per customer. Some stores turn them off to keep the database light; visit and visitors-online reports then have nothing to show.
3. The report’s own module is disabled
Best-selling products, sales and orders, visits, visitor origin, available quantities… each report in the sidebar is a “stats” module. A missing or empty report is often a module disabled during a clean-up or a migration.
4. Order statuses are not “validated”
Sales reports only count orders whose status is considered validated. If you use custom statuses (for a payment method, for example), check in Orders › Statuses that the option treating the order as validated is ticked. Otherwise those sales vanish from your statistics.
5. The date range or the shop context
Two simple but common traps: the date range selected at the top of the Stats page does not cover the dates you expect, or, in multistore, the selected context is not the shop you are looking at.
6. Hosting that is too limited
Statistics collection writes to the database on every visit, and some reports are heavy to compute over a long history. On modest hosting, reports that time out or load partially point to a server limit, not necessarily to missing data.
The reports to read first
Once collection is back, focus on a handful of reports:
- The Stats dashboard: sales, conversion and distributions (payment, category, zone) over the period.
- Sales and orders: how revenue and the number of validated orders evolve.
- Best-selling products and best categories: what drives your revenue.
- Visitor origin: where your visits come from.
- Available quantities: stock levels product by product.

When the Stats module is no longer enough
Even when set up properly, the Stats module describes the past. It does not forecast your sales, compute the stockout date of each combination, track margin product by product or flag customers who are drifting away.
Lumexio sits alongside it, without replacing your statistics: the module sends your data to our servers, where forecasts, margins, segmentation and alerts are computed, without weighing on your hosting. See what Lumexio adds to your PrestaShop analytics.
